AI policy basics for small organizations
A one-page AI policy prevents most problems before they start. Here is what to put in it.
Why bother
Your team is probably already using AI tools. A short policy turns quiet, inconsistent use into safe, shared practice.
What to include
Which tools are approved; what data must never be pasted in (client records, passwords, health or student data); when AI output needs human review; and who to ask when unsure.
Keep it short
One page that people read beats a twenty-page document nobody opens. Review it every six months as tools change.
